User Guide

Step 1: Join the Chat

Enter your name in the login section and click "Enter Chat" to join the study group platform. This creates your profile and makes you visible to other online students.

Step 2: Select a Study Group

Browse the available study groups in the left sidebar and click on one to join. Groups are organized by subject area (Math, Computer Science, etc.) to help you find relevant discussions.

Step 3: Participate in Discussions

Use the message input area at the bottom of the chat to send messages to the group. You can ask questions, share insights, or respond to other students' inquiries.

Step 4: Share Resources

Click the paperclip icon to share files, links, or other study resources with your group. This facilitates the exchange of notes, practice problems, and helpful materials.

Step 5: Create Your Own Group

If you can't find a group for your specific subject, click the "+" button in the Study Groups section to create your own. Specify the subject, add a description, and invite others to join.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the chats moderated?

While we don't actively moderate every conversation, we have community guidelines in place. Users can report inappropriate content, and we review these reports to maintain a respectful learning environment.

Can I have private conversations with other students?

Currently, all conversations are group-based to encourage collaborative learning. We're considering adding private messaging in a future update based on user feedback.

Is there a limit to how many groups I can join?

No, you can join as many study groups as you'd like. We encourage exploring different groups to find the ones that best match your academic needs and learning style.

Can I schedule study sessions with specific times?

While the current version doesn't include scheduling functionality, you can coordinate times within the chat. We're planning to add calendar integration for scheduled study sessions in the future.

What file types can I share in the chat?

You can share most common file types including PDFs, images, documents, and spreadsheets. For security reasons, executable files (.exe) and certain script files are not permitted.
